Ethics Statement
Personally, I consider myself as someone who holds empathy, honesty, independence, creativity and loyalty close to my identity. Professionally, I consider myself as someone who respects and strives for communication, confidentiality, objectivity, productivity and efficient teamwork. Regardless, I find myself mixing these two codes of ethics together frequently. My personal ethics and professional ethics work well in tandem, increasing my proficiency in both the workplace and within my homelife. I’ve spent these past ten years evaluating my morals and values carefully, knowing that I wanted to work with people for quite some time.
Of course, I wasn’t simply born with these values and morals. Honesty and communication came from many hard lessons in my life, I don’t regret these lessons however. I find myself understanding different people and perspectives with a less biased and more patient lens. A large contribution to my ethics building was thanks to AppTV, Appalachian State’s TV station. I’ve had the honor and opportunity to work with the station for the last two years of my college career. I have built my way up to the Operations Manager and created my own show, The Appalachian Front. I’ve been able to share stories, contribute to my community, be creative and have the ability to lead and work with excellent teammates. Public Relations is the perfect path for me to continue upholding my ethical codes and my love and need to help others, whether it’s through story-telling or crisis management.
